They told me to write a poem about

“moments of being.”

To try to start seeing

What it means to start feeling

The world around, while staying within.

The word “they” encompasses all without

Really meaning anything at all, it’s about

Inner sanctity, and peace, and knowing who you are and being proud and

Shouting it from the rooftops because apparently
truth
is
light.

Writing your own story is a lot harder than it sounds.

You have to do lots of inner searching, people say looking at the clouds

Helps to discover “what the universe is telling you” but for me, the waves just pound

And none of it makes much sense, but they say that that’s
part of the process.

Learning myself is like watching paint dry

So painfully slow, sometimes I just want to cry

Out with the overwhelming importance of it all because locating your identity isn’t like buying

A house with all the appliances already installed, your body is a

House, your mind is a

temple,

I feel so

small.

But there are a few small things I know.

This life is too full to be empty just because you’re lazy and slow.

In order for things to happen, you have to get up and go

Make them happen.

Identity is a label in itself.

But you get write it out.
