oh wonder

I've come to the conclusion that Jesus and poetry are one in the same. Both speak absolute peace and joy to me. Both skim the silky surface of the soul, creating ripples of refreshment that flow into waves of relief and wonder. Neither are meant to make sense upon initial introduction: rather, they reveal their mysteries over time, the longer you choose to sit and inhale their essence. And you have to *choose* to do so. Poetic experience doesn't just *happen* to you, and yet it's in the air you breathe and the cool water you drink and the scents of newly-cut grass and fresh, warm brownies. Likewise, the love of Jesus is undeniable, inescapable, and all-encompassing. And yet in order to receive the full benefits of that miraculous adoration, you must make a conscious decision to immerse yourself fully: head up, heart out, eyes wide open to see the beauty of a relationship with our awesome, poetic God.

Experience some poetry. Stand in wonder and awe of a peace that extends to the ends of the universe. Dive into simultaneous mystery and faith. Let love.
